Lorde- Royals. This is a very popular music video, it has elements of performance, narrative and concept. This video is inspirational as it is recognised as a good video for its genre, so there are elements that could be translated into our own video, such as the close ups of the artist performing, these different cinematography styles will help us in our music video as I can see some that I might want to implement in our own, these range of camera angles will benefit the narrative of our music video and create a relationship between the artist and the audience. This video represents the artist in a positive way as the fans know who she is and she will be able to grow her personal image and create a fan base.
Music video 2-
Kanye west- All falls down. This music video provided inspiration as it was a music video that showed me an unconventional way of making a music video, the elements of first person view was different and could be looked at for our own music video. The performance and concept elements in this video were also unique and overall this video has provided inspiration to me and I feel that if I used this inspirtation in my own music video it would benefit the quality of it as the concept would fit the conventions of any possible genre we choose which could be strongly concept based. The genre of this video is not in the genre that we will choose but it still had some unconventional features that allow the audience to tell it apart from usual hip-hop videos. It also represents the artist well as it shows his lifestyle, the narrative of this music video is mixed with the performance well and the music video is entertaining, this mix would be good to include in my music video as it doesn't focus on one sole element.
Music video 3-
Jake Bugg- Theres a beast and we all feed it. This video was inspiration to me as it was made to be very unconventional to other genres videos like pop, and also different to his own genre, there wasn't much of a narrative or any performance, the concept was just to show clips of different people doing strange things, the video doesn't follow an of Goodwins theory either. This is inspirational to me as it shows that unconventional videos can still be entertaining. This video is more relateable to our group as we might choose a song in the wide genre of rock, which Indie is under which this video is for. This will help me to realise what other rock videos can be like.
Daniel Bedingfield- Gotta get thru this.
I took some inspiration from this music video as the editing styles are slow for most of the music video but there is occasional use of fast paced editing when there is an action scene. This is what we want to include in our music video as it will show the performance side well like in this video but also have some action that will engage the audience as well. Also the location of this video is in some of the locations we could use so the editing style will be easily relate able.
Foster the people- Coming of age.
This video has a good use of colour tints that would be conventional of our genre so we have taken some inspiration and are looking at including colour tints through out or video to engage the audience and make our music video conventional to the genre. Also the time lapse is a feature of editing in this music video that is good and effective so I feel that including that would be good in our own music video.
List 3 artists or songs that I would consider making a music video for and that I will share with my Group are Tame Impala- It fees like we only go backwards, Jake Bugg- Theres a beast and we all feed it, and Clean Bandit- Extraordinary.
