In my group there are four members, Me, Harry Hyett, Jazz Chrystie and Benjamin Yarwood.
Explain what you discussed in your first meeting?
In our first meeting we discussed what songs we was thinking of using for music video, chose a song that we are going to use, then also we printed off our lyrics and annotated them top see the main themes of the song are, for example relationships. In this meeting we discussed why we would use each song and the song we chose had the most positives such as interesting lyrics and how we could create an interesting music video from looking at the lyrics.
Discussion of A3 paper and ideas gathered. (also take a picture of the A3 paper, to show as evidence and upload this to your blog)
From the ideas gathered we have got an idea of what we will include in our video such as codes and conventions.
Moving forward to the next meeting (applying for copyright, researching the chosen music genre and starting to consider the outline of the music video).
In the next meeting we will be looking at applying for copyright to use the chosen song, we will also be researching our chosen music genre, this will be useful as it could influence our ideas of what to include in our own video. We will also consider the basic outline of our music video.
Group meetings and discussions
·
Individual
feedback from the individual analysis of the chosen music genre and ideas
gathered
We individually analysed the chosen music genre, I knew the genre before the decision to choose the song to make a music video for it so I had an understanding of what the genre is like and what are popular conventions in the genre. I noticed that the main conventions of the genre are bright colours and tints on the music video, this relates to the audience and the themes of phsycedlic drugs that are linked to the genre of phsycedlic rock. Other conventions are that there is more of a narrative and concept base fr videos in the genre and the performance side of a music video isn't as important to the audience.
·
Discussion
and ideas of the outline of the music video
We discussed what we wanted our music video to be like and started to discuss possible narrative bases for the music video and the first starting scene that we all agreed on and liked was the start and helped us build the rest of the narrative for the music video. We decided to use different editing styles such as time lapse and different range of camera angles and shots to keep the video interesting for our audience.
·
Storyboards,
planning the production (camera, editing, image, MES) and filming the
production
When we agreed on a basic narrative we made our storyboards which were made for the filming process and to put our ideas on paper during the filming we didn't follow the storyboards 100% but the were useful and necessary to get the narrative written down. The storyboards also let us put down the editing styles and specific mise-en-scene was going to be using for each shot.
Meetings and discussions
I feel that group meetings and discussions are important as they let us track our progress in the meetings and look at what we have discussed and what we haven't discussed so we know what to have a meeting about. They also allow us to do tasks together as we have organised what tasks we have to do and when to do it so we can arrange to work together on tasks.

This post demonstrates some evidence of group planning. It is clear to see that you and your group have considered some inspiration for your music video and some of the planning that you have taken. However, you need to elaborate on the meetings that you have untaken in a lot more detail, by considering your planning sheets further. As this will enable you to demonstrate further evidence of planning that has been carried out.
ReplyDeleteAlso aim to include your A3 paper planning sheets into this post, to support the points that you have made.
The table that you have included above, demonstrates further evidence of group meetings and discussions that you have untaken with your group.
ReplyDeleteNow you need to explain in more detail whether you think your group worked well over the course of your production.
