Introduction- Why is an artist representation essential within a music video?
The representation of an artist is very important in music videos and especially in our music video as it is what helps build the relationship with the audience and the artist, it also helps the music video fit genre conventions and helps build the narrative of the music video.

Analysis- Explain what costumes, hair and makeup your artist will have in your music video

Jazz- Trainers, jacket, shirt and jeans. Normal hair and no makeup

The representation of our artist in our music video is not conventional to our music genre as we have chosen to have our artist wear normal clothes, this is opposed to other outfits that i have seen in phsycedelic rock videos from the research i have made, which have included clown outfits or other outfits that matched the concept of the specific music video, this would typically include lots of make up to match the costume of the actors in the music video. For our music video we are trying to target a larger and more mainstream audience than other phsycedelic rock videos so we wanted to make our main character in the video relate able to the larger audience, to do this we have decided for him to wear normal clothes, this shows the audience that the person in the video is normal like them so they can relate to him, this helps build the important relationship between the audience and the artist, which will attract a larger audience to the video as people will enjoy the video more.


Robyn- Jumper, jeans, t-shirt, shoes. Light makeup, and normal hair.

For the female 'girlfriend' character who appears at the start scene of the music video we have again decided to take the unconventional route to keep the music video relate able for the audience which will help to build the relationship between the audience and the artist, this is as she is relate able to them because she is just represented as a normal girl. The clothes she is seen wearing in this video are normal clothes that are comfortable for her as she is in a house so its appropriate for her to be dressed in casual clothes they are also more relate able for the audience. The hair and makeup for this character will be basic and this fits with the setting of the house as she doesn't need to have full make up or special hair if she is at home. This character isn't conventional to the phsycedelic rock genre but the character is in our music video as we are aiming for attracting a larger audience and this character will help do this as she is relate able for the audience.


Summary- How can your target audience build a relationship with your artist through image that you have selected?
The target audience for our music video is people aged 16-45 and also a more mainstream audience than what other phsycedelic rock music videos aim for as they are generally made for a niche audience. The artist image that we have selected is one that will help build the important relationship between the artist and the audience as the artist and other character have been represented as normal people that the target audience will be able to relate to as they wear normal clothes and act like normal people. This should be engaging for the audience and will help them enjoy the music video more than they would if they couldn't relate to the the characters.
